I am running out of room on this web page and superlatives to describe Sorceror.

We  visited the National cat Club show at Olympia this year (as normal - an annual visit now) and took Sorceror. We were hoping he would get his Grand  - which he duly did - this means he is now a GCCF Grand Champion as well as a CA Grand International Champion. We next learnt that we had better get him ready for best in show! - which we later guessed meant he had been voted Best semi-longhair by the relevant judge. Next came a spine tingling best in show panel.

Kerry and I were on tender hooks and could only hope and dream that he was picked - and he was - he had behaved beautifully during the panel and was very well stewarded (thanks whoever it was) - next came a dazed period which we still relive every so often.

Sorceror makes us very proud and humble - he has done amazingly well for us.

He is in no order of importance!

( was C.A. Kitten of the year 2000)

C.A. CAT of the year 2001

Garden of England Cat of the year 2001

Maine Coon Guild Cat of the year 2001

Yes Arsenal may have done the double but Sorceror has done the treble!

You may wonder why he has done so well and I will try to explain.

Firstly he enjoys the show bench - he is never phased by the attention - and is inquisitive as to what is happening on the show bench - this comes over as playing to the judges.

Secondly he is a beautifully balanced cat scoring highly on the FIFE breed standard for a Maine Coon - yes some cats may have bigger ears - some may have better profiles - some may even have better tails - but Saucy has all these in abundance. He is extremely muscular and square across his haunches, shoulders and chest - again a breed standard. His muzzle is very square and although not extreme in length is long enough to give the boxy look which the breed standard calls for. His tail is full and long, flows beautifully - again a breed standard.

Oh and thirdly - although this does not count in FIFE but may just swing things his way when up against others - his coat patterning and color are stunning - and of course, always prepared to perfection by Kerry.

Our belief is he is the most balanced Maine Coon around at the moment (bear in mind he is still only 2.5 years old) and well deserves his many accolades.

If I was in a Maine farm and saw a working farm cat - Sorceror would be it!

He made his Show Debut at The Maine Coon Cat Club Show on Saturday 24th June 2000 at Solihull. He had a wonderful day, he Won his Open Class, Won the Male Kitten Class, Won the Club Class, Won The Breeders Class, was 2nd in the Debutante Class, and was Best Male Kitten in Show. He also qualified for the Supreme at the NEC in Birmingham in November. So we are very pleased with him. We never imagined that he would do this well on his first show. Pictured are his Trophies and some of his Rosettes.

Photo at the bottom is of Saucy at the Tonbridge Show at which he was Best of The Best and best Club Cat and Kitten. I think he may do us proud and hopefully give us another good line to breed from.

Sorceror is now an adult and has wonderful temperament for a stud boy and great type.

He has followed his mum by being the CA Points Award best kitten for the year 2000. We were very pleased as we seem to be going in the right direction with our lines.

Needless to say he will be shown as an adult this year and hopefully his first litter will come along shortly.

Sorceror was Best Opposite Sex in Show at the 2001 Maine Coon Cat Club Show. A good trip for us up to the Midlands again - a number of our kittens/cats were there and we are pleased with their progress.

Sorceror was Best Overall Cat at the CA International cat shows at Chessington and Worthing 2001.

As you can see he takes this all in his stride much more than we do and usually has a fun time with the photographer Robert Fox who took most of the show photos on this page.
